An Event with Purpose
On February 9th, 2025, La Vieja Cigarra once again came alive with the unique energy of a new edition of EQUILIB ~ ARTE, an event that has become a benchmark in southern Spain for those seeking experiences that integrate art, wellbeing, and nature. Under a clear winter sky and surrounded by the magical setting of our cortijo, we shared a day that inspired, connected, and transformed.
EQUILIB ~ ARTE was born with a clear intention: to gather people with sensitivity toward personal growth, creativity, and conscious living. In this edition, we preserved the original essence of the event, opting for an intimate and meaningful program designed to offer spaces for genuine connection and soul-touching experiences.
A Multisensory Experience
The day was carefully structured to offer a balanced and enriching experience. The morning began with a gentle outdoor yoga practice, where participants aligned with the natural rhythm of the day. Among century-old trees and sheltered by the Sierra, the practice invited inner silence and openness of the senses.
Throughout the day, various activities unfolded, such as:
Intuitive art workshops, where participants painted, created, and explored without judgment.
Circles of sharing and guided meditation, fostering introspection and active listening.
Live music sessions with local artists offering acoustic concerts among olive trees and stone walls.
Every moment was accompanied by attention to detail: meals prepared with local, seasonal ingredients were served at communal tables to reinforce community spirit; resting areas with blankets, cushions, and warm lighting invited calm and reflection.
La Vieja Cigarra: More than a Place, a Philosophy
Many attendees highlighted how the space itself was a fundamental part of the experience. La Vieja Cigarra is not just a beautiful place; it’s a place with soul. Our mission goes beyond renting a rural cortijo. We want to offer a conscious refuge where people can reconnect with the essentials — the earth, others, and themselves.
Located in the heart of Andalusian nature, our cortijo blends rustic charm with authenticity. There are no artifices: just wood, stone, silence, birdsong, wind among the almond trees, and fiery sunsets. Each event we host or organize is part of a wider fabric promoting a more connected, simple, and meaningful life.
EQUILIB ~ ARTE is one of our most cherished initiatives precisely because it embodies the values that define us. It is art born from balance, and balance nourished by art.
Walking Towards the Future
This edition of EQUILIB ~ ARTE has left a mark on all who participated. The words most repeated were: gratitude, inspiration, connection, openness. For us, there is no greater reward than seeing people leave with fuller hearts and brighter eyes.
